In the Collie dog breed, a variant could be found to be associated with recurrent inflammatory pulmonary disease. Owners of affected dogs reported recurrent foamy vomiting, shallow breathing, cough, increased breathing sounds and fever. The clinical signs started at a few days of age. The dogs responded to therapy with antibiotics and secretolytics, but tended to relapse quickly without antibiotic treatment.
