Disease
Canine multifocal retinopathy (CMR) is an inherited disease which causes lesions of the retina. The distinct course of the disease is not fully known yet and varies in the affected breeds. First symptoms can be found at the age of about four month. The progression of the disease is slow. In some cases, lesions disappear for some time and emerge again later on. Research about the pathology of the CMR is still to be done to investigate the stages of the disease completely. Blindness or visual impairment was not found in affected dogs yet.
