Disease
Factor VII (FVII) deficiency is an extremely rare disease in dogs and is associated with a mild to moderate bleeding tendency initially described in Beagles. Clinical manifestations are a prolonged one-stage prothrombin time and a decreased FVII level. In Alaskan Klee Kai dogs a severe form of FVII deficiency with subcutaneous hematomas, anemia and abnormal bleeding has been observed.
